Scrum is a process framework that many organizations use to become agile. Scrum is an iterative, incremental process framework that can be used to optimize productivity while eliminating waste, delivering agility to its users. The Agenda 8:30 to 9am Registration 9:00am - 12:00pm Management & Scrum: From Here to Agility Ken Schwaber - Co Author, Agile Manifesto Ken Schwaber is the co-developer of Scrum and signatory to the Agile Manifesto. He will help us understand what Scrum is, why and how it works, and how it can be used to gain agility. Ken will describe how Scrum has been used by APL/Johns Hopkins to deliver advanced product prototypes, by DOD contractors to save lives, and by other organizations to gain competitive advantage, create advanced life critical products, and just make software development a lot more enjoyable, predictable, and less risky. Ken will describe some of his experiences working with organizations, and discuss strategies and tactics for adopting Scrum and becoming "agile." 12 to 1pm Lunch 1:00pm - 4:30pm Implementing Scrum using Team Foundation Server 2010 Richard Hundhausen - President, Accentient In this session you will learn how Team Foundation Server 2010 supports Scrum and in such a way that reduces waste and increases product quality and business value. All members of a software development team, including ScrumMasters, product owners, and stakeholders are encouraged to attend. We will take a hands-on look at Microsoft’s TFS Scrum process template as we create and groom the product backlog, plan and execute a Sprint, track a team’s progress, and move increments of potentially shippable software through to done. There will be plenty of demonstrations and time for questions, so bring your hardest Scrum or ALM puzzles to the seminar. About the Speakers: Ken Schwaber co-developed the Scrum process with Jeff Sutherland in the early 1990s to help organizations struggling with complex development projects. One of the signatories to the Agile Manifesto in 2001, he subsequently founded the Agile Alliance and Scrum Alliance. He recently left the Scrum Alliance to found Scrum.org. A 30-year veteran of the software development industry (from bottle washer to boss), he has written three books about Scrum: Agile Software Development with Scrum, Agile Project Management with Scrum, and The Enterprise and Scrum. He lives in Lexington, Massachusetts. Richard Hundhausen is the president of Accentient, a company that specializes in Application Lifecycle Management using Visual Studio. He has nearly 30 years of software and database development experience and over 20 years of training and presentation experience. Richard is a Microsoft Regional Director, Visual Studio ALM MVP, and author of Microsoft's "Professional Scrum Developer" course.
