John McClelland

Audience Evangelism Manager, Microsoft Public Sector DPE

John McClelland has 20 years of experience in the software industry as a developer, architect, consultant and evangelist, and has worked with Microsoft’s ISV partner community in the East Region for the past 3-years to drive awareness, readiness and adoption of developer related technologies. He began his career as a Mining and Computer Engineer focused on Mining Automation and Robotics research with the Federal Government before moving to the private sector as a Senior Systems Analyst with Westinghouse Corporation. He joined Microsoft in 1997 and spent the next 5 years within their consulting ranks architecting and implementing distributed applications for several of Microsoft’s largest customers in the Greater Pennsylvania area. In 2002 he joined Microsoft’s Developer and Platform Evangelism team to focus all of his time on the architect and developer community to explore, understand, and implement solutions built on the .NET Platform.

In addition to his extensive industry experience, John holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a BS in Mining Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.
