Technet discussion forum for Hyper-V (Server virtualization)

Update 6/30/08. Windows Server virtualization is now Hyper-V, and it RTM'd on 6/26/08. The forum has also recently moved to https://forums.technet.microsoft.com/en/winserverhyperv/threads/

Cheers,
John.

Here's a site I didn't even know existed until yesterday evening - the Technet discussion forum for Server virtualization. https://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowForum.aspx?ForumID=583&SiteID=17. A great place to discuss Virtual Server, Virtual PC, System Center Virtual Machine Manager, and (of course....) Windows Server virtualization.

Cheers,
John.

I am trying to fully backup a physical server and restore all including system files to a Virtual server.  the backup and restore works no errors.  Once the restore is completed we take the two physical server off the network, reboot the VM servers but they do not take on the physical servers name and the users cannot connect via remote destop connection.  It appears as if some of the system files were not completely restore.   I'm using NetBackup v5.1. This is basically a backup of the physical server to remove the physical servers off the network and allow the users to connect to the Virtual servers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Chet
