Robert B's Bio

Hey everybody, my name is Robert Baskin and I’m a Program Manager for Windows Embedded. I work on the Componentization team and focus on the security features of our product, but I am also involved in other areas of the product such as Embedded Enabling Features and Servicing. I graduated from Yale University. During my college career, I interned with Yahoo News and Microsoft Surface. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, where I learned to love the Dodgers, Lakers and Kings. Outside of work, I enjoy gaming on my Xbox 360 and hanging out with friends.

  You jump right in, but even in your last blog, you don't mention what program this is. Using a magnifying glass, is it gpedit.msc? If so, I don't have a "Create New Rule..." option under Actions.

  Joe, I'm sorry - when the posts were split into two (an intro and a step-by-step walkthrough), the information about where to perform those steps was lost. You are right - it is in Local Group Policy Editor, which can be run by starting gpedit.msc from the command prompt. You then navigate to Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Application Control Policies in that window, and follow the instructions from there. Robert

  gentlemen, it would be  ganerally a good idea to give the names of the mentioned files. If Robert says "The License Assessment Tool(LAT)" it would be better to say (lat.exe) or (lic_tool.exe) or whatever it is.
