My Windows Mobile Phones

As some of my friends and colleagues know I like my gadgets. Thanks to ebay and others I have turned around one Microsoft Mobile (CE/PocketPc) every year for the past 10 years. Here are the phones:

	HP Jornada 720	1998	Too bulky, somewhat slow	Colour screen and full keyboard. HEAVY though and expensive.
	Casio Cassipeia e105	1999	Slow and chunky. Screen hard to read outdoors. Stolen at NZ Airport with Microdrive.	First colour pocket PC handheld device. Well designed (Jog wheel!)
	Compaq 3630	2000	Wanted to integrate phone with organiser	Brilliant screen and build quality. Set the bar for the market.
	HP Jornada 928	2002	Hardware failures, weight and not the most reliable phone	Great concept (external front display and cover) except for the size
	i-mate Pocket PC Phone Edition	2003	Size (possibly some speed envy)	Excellent. A true integrated phone PDA.
	i-mate Jam	2005	Intermediate hardware faults.	Brilliant size and rugged
	O2 XDA Atom	2006	Hardware kept resetting and losing 1/5 calls	Smallest pocket pc but made me squint to see the text
	i-mate SP5	2007	Windows Mobile 6!	Brilliant battery life and operationally great. Really changed my perception of SmartPhone

 

Next I was considering the i-mate 7150 but I think now I'll use the ever so good form factor of the HTC Touch.

  Just one think HTC left off in the Touch PDA. No 3G support.  major oversight

  Yes.... After some thought I did a I turn and am now getting the HTV cavalier. It dawned on me that I needed the keys and the cavaliers speed is quite impressive.
