SQL Server 2014 リリース発表、Hadoop 2.2 対応 Windows Azure HDInsight 正式リリースに

SQL Server 2014 が 4/1 に正式リリースとなることが発表され、また、プレビュー公開となっていた Windows Azure HDInsight の Hadoop 2.2 クラスターが正式公開となりました。

Windows Azure でも SQL Server の AlwaysOn 機能を正式サポート しており、ミラーやバックアップ先として Windows Azure を利用できます。SQL Server 2014 のリリースと合わせて、Windows Azure 仮想マシン のイメージとしても提供される予定です。

現在時点では SQL Server 2014 CTP2 試用版 が利用可能です。

Windows Azure HDInsight は Hadoop 2.2 クラスターに対応し、クエリー応答時間 40 倍、データ圧縮率 80 % など、大幅な機能改善がなされています。Windows Azure HDInsight 自体は正式リリース、2 月にプレビュー公開していた Hadoop 2.2 クラスターが正式リリースとなったものです。

HDInsight Version 3.0 が Hadoop 2.2 クラスターとなります。
