Guidance and framework for running HPC applications on Azure

Get started running your Big Compute workloads on Azure! The AzureCAT HPC team is proud to announce a new framework we created to accelerate the testing of high-performance computing (HPC) applications using Azure Batch pools or Azure CycleCloud clusters.

In the past year, we worked with many customers, partners, and software vendors who want to use Azure to run compute-intensive Linux and Windows workloads. We’re talking about everything from parallel batch jobs to traditional HPC simulations.

We learned a lot along the way, and now we want to share some of the best practices we tested in the field. We also created an HPC application catalog to document the benchmarks we ran for specific commercial and open source HPC applications, including ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Fluent. Our team continues to add applications to the catalog, so let us know which ones you want to see.

Take a look at our GitHub repo containing the framework and start running your HPC applications on Azure. You can duplicate the HPC catalog as well and reuse it in your environment for benchmark testing.

Please share your feedback. If you want to see a particular application in our catalog, submit an issue at our GitHub repo.
