Short Update on XPS Printing
We published a white paper on writing print drivers using the XPS filter pipeline. It covers the different print paths in Vista, components of the filter pipeline and different options for writing XPS print drivers. Get it here.
Also, our friends from Global Graphics and Quality Logic announced some joint work to help the print industry build XPS solutions. See the press release here.

Just downloaded the white paper and going through the stuff...do you have another one which talks abt the config module in detail.
Will we be having samples of a filter and the config module in beta 2 of the wdk? - Anonymous

Sekhar,
We are authoring a whitepaper to cover the configuration module in detail as well. This should be available around the end of the year and will be post at microsoft.com/whdc/print.
For the next iteration of the WDK, there will be filter samples only. We are targeting a full XPSDrv sample for Beta 2.
Let me know if you have any more questions on the pipeline or XPSDrv (prninfo@microsoft.com).
Thanks.

Daniel,
Thanks for answering my question. I thought the next iteration of the WDK is the beta 2, scheduled in the 3rd week of Dec 05.
Is there another iteration of the WDK planned before the beta 2? If yes, can I get it from MSDN subscriptions ?
The WDK beta 1 does not have the new print path enabled. I was told the beta 2 will have the print path documented with samples for both the filters and the config module.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
