Creating an OS Design for a Wireless Access Point (Windows CE 5.0)
To create an OS design for a wireless access point
On PBCLIENT, open Platform Builder, and then complete the New Platform Wizard. The following list shows the choices to make in the New Platform Wizard:
- Choose the CEPC: x86 BSP.
- Choose the Gateway design template.
- On the Gateway Extensions page, choose Next.
- On the Applications & Media page, choose Next.
- On the Networking & Communications page, choose Next.
- Read the security warnings, and then choose Next.
- On the Completing the New Platform Wizard page, choose Finish.
In the Catalog, locate the following Catalog items and drag them to the Workspace window of your OS design:
Catalog Item Sysgen variable Location in Catalog Native Wi-Fi WLAN Access Point Components SYSGEN_NWIFI_AP Communication Services and Networking\Networking - Local Area Network Network Utilities (IpConfig, Ping, Route) SYSGEN_NETUTILS Communication Services and Networking\Networking Features NE2000-compatible (PCI card) BSP_NIC_2000_PCI Device Drivers\Networking\Local Area Network (LAN) devices Realtek RTL8180 Native Wi-Fi AP Driver BSP_NIC_RTL8180 Device Drivers\Networking\Local Area Network (LAN) devices If you are using a non-NE2000-compatible network adapter, you can select the appropriate driver for your network adapter from the Catalog under Device Drivers\Networking\Local Area Network (LAN) and drag the Catalog item to the Workspace window.
