Personal Area Networking (PAN) Profile (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

The Personal Area Networking (PAN) profile implements a network interface over Bluetooth. The following roles are defined for the profile:

The NAP role will enable a mobile device to be set up as a wireless gateway, providing network connectivity over Bluetooth to a remote device which is configured a PAN User.

All data exchange with the network is done by using the Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol (BNEP).

You can configure the PAN profile through registry settings. For more information about the values to set, see Personal Area Network (PAN) Profile Registry Settings.

For more information, see the Personal Area Networking Profile Specification at this Official Bluetooth Wireless Info Web site.
