Cloning an Existing BSP (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

1/6/2010

Cloning a BSP is a convenient way to create a new BSP for your software development board (SDB) using Platform Builder. When you clone a BSP, your new BSP is modeled after an existing BSP that you have installed on your development workstation. For information about supported BSPs in Platform Builder, see Supported Board Support Packages.

To clone an existing BSP

  1. From the Tools menu, select Platform Builder for CE 6.0, and then select Clone BSP.

The Clone BSP dialog box appears.

  2. In the Source Board Support Package field, select a BSP from the list of installed BSPs that closely matches the microprocessor and microprocessor companion chip on your hardware, if applicable.

  3. In the Name field, enter a new friendly name for the selected BSP.

  4. In the Description field, enter a description for the selected BSP.

  5. In the Platform directory field, enter a directory location where the selected BSP will be cloned to.

The new directory is created under %_WINCEROOT%\Platform.

  6. In the Vendor field, enter the vendor name for the selected BSP.

  7. In the Version field, enter a version number for the selected BSP.

  8. To continue cloning the BSP, click Clone.

You have completed cloning an existing BSP.
