Building a Run-Time Image for a Networked Media Device (Windows CE 5.0)
This procedure generates a run-time image for your networked media device, and is intended as a starting point in the image building process. It might be necessary to optimize the image to meet specific functional and memory requirements for your device.
To build an example image for anetworked media device
Run Platform Builder.
From the File menu, choose New Platform.
Choose Next.
Type a name for your OS design, for example NMD1, and then choose Next.
Note The name cannot contain spaces.
Choose a BSP from the list of available BSPs, and then choose Next.
For information about the available BSPs, see Developing a Board Support Package for a Networked Media Device.
Choose Digital Media Receiver as the design template, and then choose Next.
Clear the Windows Media Audio/MP3 check box, and then choose Next.
Select the Local Area Network checkbox, and then select Wired Local Area Network, Wireless Local Area Network, or both, and then choose Next.
Choose Finish.
In the Catalog, expand Core OS, expand Windows CE devices, expand Graphics and Multimedia Technologies, and then expand Media.
Right-click on NMD UI, and choose Add to OS Design.
If you want to include a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) engine in your OS DesignView, right-click on DVR Engine, and choose Add to OS Design.
In the OS DesignView pane, expand Digital Media Receiver, expand Shell and User Interface, expand Shell, and then remove Standard Shell.
Add other drivers or Catalog items as needed.
From the Build OS menu, choose Build and Sysgen.
