    If True, checks out the calendar or calendars for editing.

Remarks

Warning

If the filter parameter is String.Empty, ReadCalendars returns a CalendarFilterInvalid eror in System.ServiceModel.CommunicationException.

To get a list of all enterprise calendars, use the ListCalendars() method.

The ReadCalendars method supports only calendar exceptions for enterprise calendars, not all enterprise calendar functionality in Project Server. You can get the time off for Project Server resources as calendar exceptions by using the [Resource Web service] namespace.

Work weeks in enterprise calendars are not normalized in the Published database. Work week information is stored as binary data, so there are no direct queries available to load all calendar information to a CalendarDataSet.

Note

The filter parameter works with the Criteria operators to filter rows only in the primary CalendarsDataTable. For example, you cannot use filter with the ReadCalendars method to filter rows in the CalendarExceptionsDataTable. If you try to filter rows in a secondary DataTable, the PSI returns a FilterInvalid exception.

However, you can use the Fields.Add method to filter columns in the primary CalendarsDataTable and in the secondary CalendarExceptionsDataTable. For more information, see How to: Use a Filter Parameter with PSI Methods.
