The instancetype field specifies the type of an appointment. The following types are possible:

  • single appointment
  • master recurring appointment
  • instance of a recurring appointment
  • exception to a recurring appointment

The CdoInstanceType Enum enumerates the possible values of this field.

Note  

Do not change the value of this field.

This field is automatically set when changes to the appointment are committed. For example, you might open a recurring appointment that has the instancetype cdoMaster. If you delete all the recurrence patterns and exceptions that are associated with this appointment, and then save your changes, the instancetype of the appointment changes to cdoSingle.

If the value of the instancetype field is cdoInstance or cdoException, the value does not change.
