postusername Field

The username used in conjunction with postpassword when authenticating with a Network News Transfer Protocol (NNTP) service over the network. The user principal name (UPN) used to authenticate when posting messages remotely using Microsoft Exchange.

Remarks

This field is only relevant if the https://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/postusing field is set to cdoPostUsingPort (2) or cdoPostUsingExchange (3). For more information, see the CdoPostUsing Enum. If Microsoft Outlook Express is installed, the value from the default account is used.

When posting a message using Exchange, this value is the user's UPN. If the https://schemas.microsoft.com/cdo/configuration/mailboxurl property is not set, Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) uses this UPN to look up the Exchange server hosting the user's mailbox. When authenticating with Microsoft Active Directory, the UPN and postpassword value are used for credentials.
