使用此类时，ECMA 国际标准 ECMA-376 中的以下信息可能很有用。
指定使用者是否应根据其内容自动确定此段落前的间距。
此自动间距应与将应用于 HTML 文档中未指定明确间距的段落的间距匹配。
如果指定了此属性，则忽略 或 之前 beforeLines 的任何值，并且间距由使用者自动确定。
如果在给定段落中省略此元素，则其值由先前在样式层次结构的任何级别设置 (确定，换句话说，该上一个设置) 保持不变。 如果从未在样式层次结构中指定此设置，则会关闭自动间距， (不) 应用。
考虑文档中的段落，其上方的间距应由使用者根据段落的内容自动确定。 此约束将由以下 WordprocessingML 指定：
