What's New for Developers in Windows Mobile 6
No new OS from Microsoft is complete without a great developer story. The new Windows Mobile 6 SDK will be available for download very soon. Our good friend Jim Wilson has just published an excellent MSDN white paper that describes in great detail what's new for developers in Windows Mobile 6. Read this article now to get yourself prepared for the new SDK and features you will have access to in the coming weeks.
Here's an abstract:
The Windows Mobile® 6 developer platform release focuses on a few core goals: simplify line of business (LOB) application development and deployment, make the task of building a single application that runs successfully across the many different devices in the Windows Mobile family easier, and provide an enhanced user experience. This paper explains the new Windows Mobile 6 features and their purpose from a developer's perspective. This paper also explains the many new tools provided by the Windows Mobile 6 Software Development Kit (SDK), and provides some guidance on getting started developing Windows Mobile 6 applications. The white paper was nicely done and a good read, but I couldn't find anything in there as to whether P2P was supported on WM6 so mobile devices could participate in peer-to-peer networks with Windows XP and Vista via the P2P API's or possible through WCF's Peer facilities. Does anyone know whether WM6 has P2P?Anonymous

The download page for the Windows Mobile 6 SDKs was briefly published in error while we were pulling together the details page for the download. The Windows Mobile 6 SDKs will be available for download from MSDN on March 1st as we had originally planned.Anonymous

AS 4.5 was released but nobody from ms actually announce it. Looks like MS already forgot all retros users and only focus on getting the vista and wmdc (confusing, not stable and missing features compared to AS).Anonymous
