Red X in System Tray - Caused By Incoming Connections

 

SYMPTOM

On Windows 7 32bit or b4bit clients, after creating an incoming connection, the system tray icon always displays a red x when no incoming connections are active. However, you can still access internet without problem.

ROOT CAUSE

This issue happens since no incoming connections are active.

WORKAROUND

The only thing to do is delete incoming connection. When incoming connection is removed, this issue goes away.

    I HAD THIS ISSUE BOTHERING ME TOO , I REMOVED THE NETWORK ADAPTER DRIVER THEN IT'S OK BUT AFTER RESTART IT COMES BACK AGAIN I JUST DELETED INCOMING CONNECTION THE ISSUE WAS RESOLVED . I RESTARTED TO MAKE SURE IT'S STILL OK

    Deleting 'Incoming Connections" and after restart, it comes back? if I disjoin my server, from active directory, and restart, it stay gone. but as soon as I join Active Directory, it comes back? argh... searched Group Policy, and Checked over RRAS on domain controller, and can't find anything related!??!

    That solution is just stupid! How should i delete Incoming Connections if i need them?
