Are you getting a "The root activity type is invalid" error with the Custom Activity Designer sample?
Several peolple have gotten a "The root activity type is invalid" error when using the Custom Activity Designer sample that can be found at https://wf.netfx3.com/files/folders/activity_behavior/entry840.aspx. I created an update project that should resolve the problem, which can be downloaded from the link below.

really nice work. i'm wondering how to host this designer in a windows app and how to generate an image screenshot out of it? this can really be an alternative for the state machine & sequential workflow designers with a bit of improvements.Anonymous

I have a single server stand alone image that I loaded on 30 laptops. Every week I teach a full class, and our final lesson uses SPD2010 to create a simple workflow that checks if an edited item is approved, and if so, create a new item in a calendar. The whole class does everything exactly as I do it (I think), but for whatever reason all but 2-4 laptops get a 'Root Activity not valid' error when they publish. And every week the error occurs on different laptops, so it is not necessarily the image itself per se. I am hoping the error you had/fixed may be the same as what I am dealing with...let me know if you may be able to help. Thanks!Anonymous
