Windows Vista Backup Technologies
Many people don't think about backing up their data until it's too late and the data has already been lost. Even the staff at TechNet Magazine has experienced that hassle; we meant to back up our home machine, but something came up and... well, cleaning up the mess was not fun.
Windows Vista aims to make backing up easier with a full range of features to seamlessly protect your data. In the September 2007 issue of TechNet Magazine, Christine Fok explains how you can use File Backup, Windows Complete PC Backup and Restore, and Shadow Copy to make sure your files are safe.
Christine also shows you how to schedule complete PC backups using task scheduler. Don't procrastinate; check it out and make backup a regular habit.
Enjoy!

Certainly can't knock how easy the Vista backup utility is to use. When a user looses data because they have failed to perform regular backups, then they are liable. However, when a reputable company distributes backup software which fails to backup all data then who is liable then. I TRUSTED the Windows Vista Backup utility and have just lost over a years work on various web sites because the utility failed to backup ANY .aspx documents. Will Mr. Microsoft be giving me back my time and money? Having recently tried XP again on my PC (and boy does it run quicker), the benefits of running Vista seem to be decreasing, especially now I have lost faith in their backup utility.
