My 13yr old Sister Hannah is Blogging! + Counts Binary on Her Fingers

Family came in from Idaho this weekend and last night we set up my 13yr old sister Hannah Joy with her own e-mail address and her own blog.  It’s great to see you blogging sis!

When she was just 9yrs old I taught her how to covert numbers from one base system to another over dinner.  She could take a number in base 3 to base 14, or any other.  This made binary seam real easy and she learned to count it on her fingers.  She is 13 now and can do it very fast (much faster than I can) on both fingers up to 2^10–1 = 1023.  Here is a video of her at age 9, about a month after learning it.

  Dear Hannah; How I wish that I had the mind to convert Base 10 to Base 2 when I was a 7th grader --- it didnt work and I failed at each and every problem I tackled for 2 years 7th and 8th Grade - Thank goodness I Aced everything else and was Student Body President.  Which leaves me with: Can you on your fingers count and project just how many trillions of dollars mr obama has wasted in his short period in office?  Thanks!!
