A few weeks ago, I posted an entry intended to tell you how to be a software engineer without coding. Today, Valleywag did me one better: how to get hardcore geek jokes (without a CS degree).

Being a geekgirl of many languages (because I do have a CS degree), the best part of that post for me was shooting yourself in the foot in various programming languages. It's funny how, after not thinking about Ada for years, I've suddenly run across several references recently. The most surprising of them was a friend (who's looking for his first post-PhD job) telling me that one company he applied to is still using it.
