delicious taunting

As a Mac geekgirl, I've long since come to accept that Apple likes taunting me with New Hotness That I Can't Have Yet. I've been spending the past six months lusting after the iPhone, after all. But they usually limit their taunting to their own apps.

They upped the ante last night at the Apple Design Awards. Delicious Library 2 won the ADA for Best Leopard Application. I haven't been able to see so much as a screenshot (although there's a small and rather fuzzy one up on the ADA site), and it's winning awards? Come on, someone, please stop taunting me. I want to see DL2! Do I really have to wait until Leopard comes out in October? Sigh.

The ADAs recognised one of my other favourite Mac apps, too: Papers won the ADA for Best Scientific Computing Solution. Papers needs some work to be fully usable for some of us outside of biology (see a review of it here for more details), but it shows a lot of promise (not to mention a developer who responds with lightning speed), and is still pretty useful and usable now.

I'd love to see DL too actually. They don't even have a capture on their own site. Papers is an AMAZING application. All the Mac users in the Lab immediately got a license when it was still a Preview version and all the Windows users cry because they don't have it. It's perfect to manage PDFs, the integration to PubMed is flawless and the Match feature allowing you to match an already downloaded PDF to the corresponding PubMed entry is brilliant (the only sad thing is that the app is not localizable yet :- ) A well deserved award for Mek & Tosj (and it's their third one!!!)

How about touting us by describing Office 2008 especially Entourage?
