Active Sync 4.1 download available

At the VS launch event I was asked about the availability of 4.0 version of ActiveSync which felt like it was in beta for ever! A quick look over on the download page revealed that ActiveSync 4.1 has shipped very recently (18th Nov) and is available here for download.

Windows Mobile 5.0 required AS version 4.0 or above but it’s worth pointing out that there is no longer any WiFi or Ethernet sync support for security reasons. So if you use that feature for a device version earlier than WM 5.0, don’t upgrade!

Thank you for this info. I'll stay with 3.8 until I upgrade to Mobile 5.0.

Hi, I have been using Active Syn 4.0 or .1 for a couple of years with my MobilemapperCE with Windows 4.2. and used the above ActiveSync to connect with Windows 2000. Now I have XP. ESRI, a mapping software company had me update to ActiveSyn 4.5 and as of now I haven't been able to transfer files from the PC to the MobilemapperCE. Do you think it is an update, non compatible issue and how do I solve it?  I can't find a download for the earlier ActiveSyn4.0. please advise, Jeffrey Horton

I have been trying to download and install active sync 4.1, 4.2 or 4.5 and when I try to install I get a window that says I could not create dey .cdbpacfileShellNew and then aborts. What is this and what do I do about it? On my laptop the download went fine. They both run xp. Thanks Ron Hadley
