OMFG we've got a zamboni!

I've been on vacation until a couple of days ago (that's why no posts), and I'm still swamped with Vista RC1 issues.

But I've got to blog about this one...

I'm working late (I did say I was swamped) and they're cleaning the carpets in my building.  The guy cleaning the carpets just went past my office...

... on a ZAMBONI.  Yeah, that's what it looked like.

I actually ran after it (I'm SUCH a geek) to find out what it's called - it's an "Advance AquaRide"

Who would have figured they'd make riding carpet-cleaners.

Man, I NEVER expected to see a zamboni here at work.

I've actually worked at a couple of places that had floor mopping "Zamboni's" that cleaned, scrubbed and squeegeed the floor as it drove around, leaving a clean dry floor behind it.  I believe Home Depot usually uses them to clean their floor.

    e.g. http://www.ifma.org/daily_articles/2005/may/05_31.cfm

Not to mention, at the Rolling Stones SARSfest concert a couple years ago they had a fleet of car-sized, driven vacuums that cleaned the fields of the debris the following morning.

There is a Zamoboni rolling along right next to me at Logan airport. The beast is pretty quiet too especially since there are so many people sleeping here. The one here looks much larger but dirtier than the one in your picture.

I used to call my lawn tractor "the Zamboni".  (I still would, but it broke down a few years ago, and now I use the kind of mower you walk behind.)

I saw one of those VERY late at night in Halifax International Airport.

It probably pays for itself in no time because it can replace an entire crew of late night workers.

    Since you mentioned RC1...  :)

I can't seem to find audio device roles in RC1.  Has this feature been dropped?  I no longer see the Communications, Movies&Music, and Console options when I set the defalt audio devices.
