Missed Anniversaries
Somehow (and I'm not sure how I managed to do this), I missed the fact that last week was the one year anniversary of this blog!
Since I'm usually pretty obsessive about dates, I can't really explain it, but it is.
Last year on March 15th, this blog went live, since then, I've posted 303 posts. I'll be honest and say that I didn't think I would be able to pull it off - it's been a challenge, but I'm reasonably proud that I've only missed one (or maybe two) days of posting since I started (given that if I'm not at work, I'm not posting).
It's been a pretty wild year, I've survived a slashdotting (and surprisingly was pleased with the results), and a couple of very near calls. I hit my 20th anniversary here during that time, and ended up writing a heck of a lot more than I'd ever have imagined.
And I've never been called on the carpet for anything I've said, and I've only had to issue a retraction on something I said once (or rather, a significant correction, not a retraction).
I'm looking forward to the next year :)
And I want to especially thank everyone who reads my blatherings, I appreciate it.

Larry,
Congrats on both of your anniversaries, and believe me when I say the pleasure is all mine when it comes to reading your blatherings. Although I was already reading your blog before it and will continue well after it's over with, the series on concurrency has been fascinating to me. I am more or less fresh out of college, and my classes didn't touch on the subject very frequently or in much depth, so I feel lucky to have benefited from your experience. This is a really great blog; it's on a short list of blogs that I can stand to read every weekday. Thanks again for your time spent blogging :)

This is the first time I've left comments on a blog, and I just had to give my two cents here as well - your blog has been a great treat to read the past year, and I'm looking forward to (hopefully) many more posts :). Thanks! - Anonymous

I second Justin's comments. Along with Raymond Chen's blog and Bruce Schneier's, yours is on my bookmarks toolbar, as it's consistently useful, interesting and informative.
As I'm a student, weekends and weekdays tend to blur together... on the weekends, I miss reading you & Raymond articles!
Thanks for all the work! - Anonymous

I'm one of the countless lurkers in this blog. The occasion warrants raising a voice: Great, really great work, Larry! You MUST keep it on. It's in my TOP-3 list (and I read about 40 MSDN blogs). Always informative, authoritative on technical matters, and somehow engaging on the (few) more personal ones. Plus, it's one of the things that gave me the last few bits of inspiration and courage to become an active Microsoft job applicant. ;-) - Anonymous

Well, this year I didn't miss the anniversary of my first blog post.
I still can't quite believe it's...
