Off to CES in Las Vegas

I'm off to the Consumer Electronic's Show in Las Vegas. I've never been to Las Vegas before so I'm sure it'll be a very interesting experience. If any of you happen to be going, stop by the Windows Movie Maker station in the Microsoft booth and say Hi. I'll be there from 12:00 to 3:00 pm every day except for Sunday.

Happy New Year
Dean

    Hey, Dean,

It's great to meet you in CES. Your demo was so well done, and so many people were surprised that a simple to use editing software is already in their hard disk, and they had paid so much money buying other editing software that they don't know how to use.

I hope you enjoyed Vegas, and hope to catch you in person again! And congratulations on the good work done!

How can I write my own DirectX "transition" filter that would be compatible with WMM? According to Microsoft's documentation, user-developed transition filters are "no longer supported." Why is this? Please don't make me have to use QuckTme.

I don't know where you read otherwise, but custom transition filters and effects are still supported. My previous blog entry

had a link to the article which shows you how to write them.
