.NET Framework 1.0 SP3 and 1.1 SP1 Tech Preview Available for Public Download
Today, Microsoft made technology preview versions of the .NET Framework 1.0 SP3 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 available for developers to download so they can test their .NET Framework-based applications with these service packs applied. Though these are unsupported technology previews, we would like to ask your help in ensuring the quality of the service packs by downloading them, testing your existing applications on them, and giving us feedback.
These two service packs address issues with the .NET Framework 1.0 and 1.1 including:
· All customer issues addressed with hotfixes
· Improved importing of WSDL
· Data Execution prevention
· Buffer overrun protection
***Updated 8/31. The links below are no longer the technology previews but are the final releases. Note the separate download for Windows Server 2003.

Cool that finally some work is started on getting service packs out!! Way too late, but better late than never :)
I talked to Dan Fernandez today on TechEd about this, looking forward having the issues in .NET 1.1 finally fixed! :) - Anonymous

It would really help to see a prominent explanation of all the changes -- so that we can all test the right parts of our code with the patch. Some of us worked around the some of the minor bugs in the 1.1 framework and if we no longer need to work around those bugs we'd definitely like to know. - Anonymous

Ilya -
I checked with the team and this is something that they are working on. A comprehensive list of changes will be available on the Web site within a few days. - Anonymous

So when do we get to see a SP for VS.net 2003? It crashed about 20 times on me yesterday just trying to debug code (and it's disappearing crashes, not crashes that report anything) - Anonymous

Sorry James, I don't have any details there. If I learn anything I will definitely let you know. But it sounds like you should probably call Product Support to try to diagnose that issue - believe it or not I've never had VS.NET 2003 crash on me.
