Windows Phone Hackathon draws in Pro Devs and Students

WindowsPhoneHackathonDay1 (14) Microsoft hosted professional developers and student developers at the Windows Phone 'Mango' Hackathon in Cambridge MA on 10/12 to 10/13. This 2-day event provided both eyes forward deep technical sessions on the new Windows Phone features such as Fast Application Switching, Live Tiles and Push Notifications as well as a heads down coding competition with expert developer evangelists on hands to assist with answering questions. WindowsPhoneHackathonDay1 (5) Chanse Arrington, Director of Developer Marketing from Nokia, kicks off the event with an update on the Nokia-Microsoft partnership, the new devices that are about to hit the market and the global nature of the opportunity that developers have to get their apps into the hands of consumers. 
   
WindowsPhoneHackathonDay1 (10) Lance McCarthy is a student developer who currently has 8 apps in the windows Phone marketplace. Lance has launched his own company and is making money with his apps.
   
Chevon Christie, a student at Hunter College and Windows Phone App developer, presents at the Windows Phone Mango Hackathon event held in Cambridge MA October 12th and 13th. Chevon has created numerous apps including Hangman Deluxe, NYC Transit and Drynks. Chevon talks about how he got started, how he makes money with his apps and the opportunities that have opened up for him since becoming a Windows developer.
