SBSC gets Coverage in Making Money Magazine
Recently Robert Epstein, who is the Business Lead for Small and Medium Business at Microsoft, did an interview with Making Money Magazine. This magazine is aimed at business start-ups, franchise owners etc. Robert was interviewed for an article which encourages small and medium businesses to consider adopting mobile technologies. It also promotes many of Microsoft’s current offerings including Small Business Server 2008, Office Live Workspaces and Windows Mobile. In this particular piece Robert call out SBSC partners specifically as key people to engage with. See the quotes below.
Microsoft’s head of small business sales, Robert Epstein, believes smarter working is an easy step for all small enterprises to make. “Many believe it’s expensive and complex to do,” he says. “But actually all you need is Windows Small Business Server. Microsoft has hundreds of SBSC partners who can provide and maintain these for very little cost, allowing employees secure access anywhere in the world. This means they can work remotely from home, in coffee shops or whilst out visiting customers or suppliers. In addition, Windows Mobile devices allow staff to access their e-mail on the move from the same server. If your company wants additional services such as CRM to help manage sales leads and improve customer relationships then this can be provided cheaply through hosting partners where the system sits in the cloud. For sharing information externally cloud services such as Office Live Workspaces provide an exceptional solution, in many cases for free”
Says Robert Epstein, “In recent times, the boundaries between work and personal time continue to blur, especially with the new digital generation entering the workforce. People expect to be able to work when they need and ‘timeshift’. For example, they might want to take the kids to school on the first day but then work later in the evening when the kids are in bed. As we are all pushed to deliver more in the same number of hours we increasingly want to become more productive whilst travelling. This trend will only continue as we see a broader range of devices such as ultra light laptops, advanced smartphones and new network access technologies such as HSDPA and WiMax which allow us to take advantage of an always on world. Small businesses are in many cases slow to adopt to these technologies but without them they could struggle to compete in attracting the best people to work for them”
Making Money is a popular SMB title which has a monthly circulation of 30,000 so this is a great forum in which to promote the SBSC partners!
