NY Enterprise Windows Group Meets: Discussion with Intel onVirtualization

Intel will be here to give us an advanced look at their new Virtualization technology. This is the technology that will be used in Virtual PC, Virtual Server and VMWare.

There will be white papers and other giveaways from Intel for the group.

The meeting will be held at 6PM at the offices of Microsoft, 1290 Avenue of the Americas, The Axa Financial Building at 51st Street in New York. (Near Radio City Music Hall.)

 

Abstract

This discussion will address virtualization usages and benefits for both server and client platforms, the technical approaches to and challenges in implementing software-based virtual machine monitors, and how Intel ® Virtualization Technology can improve these virtualization solutions. We will also review current VMM vendor plans to take advantage of Intel Virtualization Technology, and will preview Intel's plans for future virtualization enhancements.

Bio

Buzz Schadel is a software strategist in Intel's Software and Solutions Group, responsible for virtualization software strategy and ecosystem enabling. During his 18 years at Intel, he has performed marketing, strategy and program management roles in the development tools, OEM boards and systems, and software enabling business groups. In addition, from 1991-1996 Buzz was Director of Product Management at Atlas Telecom, a supplier of enhanced fax store and forward and voice messaging systems to telecoms worldwide, and from 1996-1999 was co-founder and VP of Marketing at eFusion, a supplier of VOIP enhanced services systems to the telecom and call center markets. Buzz holds an AB degree in physics from Princeton University, and a Master of Management degree from the Kellogg School of Management! .
