A string value that indicates the state of data.

Remarks

The eTag associated with the entity is used to represent original values for use with optimistic concurrency checks according to eTag rules in HTTP RFC 2616.

The value may be empty or null. Null represents the case in which no eTag is currently associated with the entity.
