Red Faction: Guerrilla – Demons of the Badlands Hands-On
Next week, Red Faction: Guerrilla fans will get access to a new single-player campaign when the Demons of the Badlands add-on ships for the game. We were lucky enough to get some hands-on time with the add-on this week, and we’re happy to report that it adds numerous fresh new items, an entirely new and different part of Mars to explore, and three new missions, as well as the usual assortment of Guerrilla Actions across the territory. Not to mention 10 new achievements worth 250 Gamer Points!
The add-on is completely stand-alone from the main Red Faction: Guerrilla story. It’s set in the Mariner Valley, three years before Alec Mason lands on Mars. With the valley setting, the terrain has a different look, and more vertical elements, than the main game. You take control of Samanya as she fights with the Marauders against EDF forces. As you play, Samanya’s backstory starts to unfold, and you’ll eventually learn why she left her people to join the Red Faction.
In addition to the three major new missions, you’ll also find a variety of new targets to destroy, including a large EDF Research Station that won’t prove easy to destroy. As you go on these missions, you’ll be able to enjoy 7 new weapons. My favorite is the Spiker (which, as you might guess, shoots spikes). Other fun toys include the Super Gauss Rifle, Missilepod rocket launcher, and the Ripper—the pickaxe from the original Red Faction. There are also three new vehicles to drive: The Chomper, a fast dune buggy; the Stomper, a turret-equipped truck, and the Punisher, a walker that’s bigger and deadlier than the construction walker in the main game.
There’s a lot of single-player goodness here for 800 Microsoft Points. Demons of the Badlands will be available from Xbox LIVE Marketplace on August 13.

I think it's pretty cool that Red Faction: Guerrilla is coming out with some downloadable content. I don't think that they should make anything for the online multiplayer though. I think it's as perfect as it's going to get.Anonymous

i think its good that they have a DLC for red faction cause multiplayer is not as good as the story and u finally get to see how samanya was a marauder and more about the maruder and why they got beef with the EDFAnonymous
