Left 4 Dead Crash Course Add-On Lands on Xbox LIVE
So much for the helicopter rescue. Left 4 Dead’s new Crash Course add-on picks up right after their helicopter rescue at the end of the No Mercy campaign and takes place in the interlude before Death Toll. This add-on, available now for 560 MS Points, adds 10 new achievements, totaling 250 points, and is playable in Co-Op, Survival, and Versus modes. (It’s an awesome Versus map, and the achievements hint that that’s the way it’s intended to be played.)
Though the core gameplay is the same goodness that makes Left 4 Dead wonderful—destroy hordes of everyday zombies and “special infected”—these maps have a different feel. You’ll spend a bit more time outside than in the typical Left 4 Dead level, moving across parking lots, waterfronts, and bridges as you look for an escape from the town. It takes around a half-hour for a typical Versus match, which is nice when you don’t have the typical hour to devote to online zombie mayhem.
What better way to pass the time while you wait for Left 4 Dead 2 to arrive on November 17?

I paid and downloaded this add-on, played the campaign last night with friends online. I have to say it was so full of glitches that the developers should be ashamed. I can't believe I was charged for this piece of garbage. In fairness it may be pretty fun and worth the money if Valve cleans it up, but I recommend anyone considering getting this not waste their money right now.Anonymous

I thought it was great, Valve keep it coming with add on's to the original L4D and I will buy L4D-2.Anonymous

Funny thing about this add on... PC users get it for free... Points Shamefully At MicrosoftAnonymous

I agree with the first guy. Why bring this out a month before L4D-2? and charge for it!?! we upgraded L4D for free when we first got online, why not here? and with glitches? no thanks!Anonymous

Yes - some glitches but they do not affect game play. Mostly this just seems RUSHED - sloppy errors like the truck crashinginto zombies but going right through them instead of hitting them. Feels like a grab at keeping us playing until the sequel comes out. Not saying it's bad - I had fun, but I also feel kinda of insulted because Valve can do much better then this. For fanboys only - it is rough around the edges but fun.Anonymous

has valve ever heard of beta testers? undoubtedly not when they released this add on!!! server lag, just as bad as pc CS source, half life, etc. used to be.(one of the reasons i went to xbox). game glitches galore, and forget about getting some of the achievements cause you wont. map layout is cool though, better that the other maps imo. imo i would buy it so you can get a feel for L4D2, but if L4D2 is as glitchy and laggy as this then i may just send it to valve and tell them were to stik it. valve, its been 5 days, fix crash course and send us a patch.Anonymous

All i really would like 2 c valve do is plz hurry with those patches especially achievment patches plz. you can meet the requirements on the acheivements a hundred times and it still wont give you them.Anonymous
October 05, 2009
Let me start by saying that I do realize the add-on is laggy and the achievement patch is needed badly. Now with that said let us get down to business. Why did Valve put this out a month before L4D2? Because you all whined and whined about how they promised add-ons that never came. Why is it so glitchy and rushed? Because they are spending most of their time trying to make another great addition to this series. They can't because you spoiled brats want everything you way then complain when you get exactly what you ask for. If you don't like it don't get it. But the continuous whining like little babies at a company who is already bending over backwards to keep their fans happy is getting rather annoying.Anonymous

Well i have L4D on PC, the updates are free, and L4D2 is only $34 (if you buy 4 copies, myself and 3 friends). Microsoft will continue to rip people off as long as games come out.. It will cost a console owner $60 + tax.. thats $30 more than on pc, then they will hit you for $5 here and $10 there for all the updates!! BTW... Crash Course was FREE FREE FREE on PC! :) if you have a pc that is capable of playing games.. BUY IT ON THERE INSTEAD!!! MICROSOFT IS A JOKE!Anonymous
October 06, 2009
To the idiot that posted "xbox 360 will always dominate pc gaming", WAKE UP AND SLAP YOURSELF IN THE FACE! 360 is obviously so much better??... since you paid more for the game to begin with, have to purchase the updates, and then have to wait longer for bugs to be fixed... i dont understand how xbox 360 will always dominate pc gaming! Congratulations for becoming an IDIOT!Anonymous

If there is finger-pointing to be done, it's at the developer/publisher - Valve/EA. They make the content and they get the money you spend on MS points to purchase it. No idea on whether the criticisms are valid but give credit and blame where its due.Anonymous

I like the game and I did buy the add-on. I have not played it in MP yet but the gameplay was alright. As for the PC verses the XBOX or WII or PS3. Yeah, the PC is usually better but you have to have a really jam up PC to play most games these days. I used to play everything on PC but the games kept requiring more power to play. Then you have to upgrade or buy another PC. Game systems are at least stable platforms and developers have to adhere to the system requirements. Not everyone can afford to throw out some serious change for a PC or hardware upgrade every 6 months or so. Just be happy with what you have.Anonymous

A big problem is that valve is famous for giving away stuff for free, so when they actually do charge for something, and it's glitchy, people freak out. My advice is to just wait, unless you could care less about the cost.Anonymous

(Just repeating what everyones saying about L4D2 OH HRY VALVE LOWER THE PRICE ON L4D2 IF YOU MAKE IT $39.99 everyone who is complaning will buy it....... )Anonymous

October 25, 2009
People never cease to amaze me. First they complained because it was announced that add-ons for L4D were being post-poned until after the release of L4D2. Then they release a fine add-on to tide us over until the new game, and people STILL complain?! Are you serious? The wife and I downloaded it and have played it in co-op a few times and the new harried pace looks like it would be AWESOME in vs. mode. We never found any glitches, and were HAPPY they released it before L4D2. I think some people need to relax and ENJOY. My two cents worth ...Anonymous
October 25, 2009
This add-on is cool, and short, which is perfect. The only negative is the achievements. Sometimes they work and sometimes they just randomly give them to you. I gotta say after playing the original game for nearly a year, I'm more than happy to get something new to play within the L4D universe. To everybody complaining or whatever, it's simple, either buy it or don't, because Valve is definitely not losing money on your behalf... L4D2 11-17-09!Anonymous

Hey how about you people stop whinning. it is what it is and you have to deal with. Yes valve should be told about these glitches and fix them but why dont you stop whinnig to us and whine to them. And pretty much no matter what microsoft is going to make the dlc to cost some money. Either shut up or make your complaints known to the companies.Anonymous

well I must say I continue to hate pc gamers as it seems they always have the better product. there are soooo many improvements and ideas that could be made to xbox live gaming. and as for this add on with a month until the sequel i did not buy this add on for 2 reasons. 1/ bad feed back. and 2/ it's a lil late to be trying to keep gamers playing left 4 dead. the game released almost a year ago and the add on is released 1 month before the sequel??? when i wanted to play I got with my friends and played. but by this time there are too many other great games being released to compete with a tiny add on to one enjoyable game. I like left 4 dead and now own the sequel but timing of this add on could only have been worse if it were scheduled for release any day from November 17 - the new year.Anonymous
December 16, 2009
There are reasons why we 360 owners have to pay for the add ons.
- Valve creates the add on for the game but Microsoft has to host the file and provide the downloads for all Xbox users. Cheap on MS, maybe but it costs money and uses bandwidth for downloads.
- PC users don't have to pay for it because Valve probably decided to offer the add on for nothing directly from them. Generous, yes! I saw the glitches but I also enjoyed L4D so had no issues with dl'ing an add on that I figured I would enjoy playing, even with the new one being released shortly after it. I now have both in the series and love them.

Regarding Brandon and Sean comments on Oct. 3...cheapness and much less politics really have nothing to do with the protesting of L4D's glitches. I have a PS3 as well and honestly the only reason I got an xbox 360 was because most my friends had an xbox 360. Considering the charges for online play and add-ons I feel people just want quality not just quantity. PS3 definitely delivers on that note. And Good Grief, how many many times we had to stop playing because one of my friends got the rings of death. I have both L4D games and the add-on but seriously quality should not be compromised for a quick buck.Anonymous
