New ship dates for Windows CCE

Don't complain. It is a new product and I'm sure you want it done right. It is no news that we run a bunch of programs for very early adopters and partners especially when working on new product releases. So does the HPC team at Microsoft. As part of their extensive efforts in working with customers and partners way before releasing a product, the team decided to incorporate important feedback they received.

Customers and partners say the overall management and deployment of the solution is an important requirement for personal and department HPC.  Personal and departmental clusters are target scenarios for the first product release. As a result, the team is now placing additional focus in this area.  

Result is, the first beta is now expected to be in customers hands in the second half of 2005 and the final release is scheduled for first half 2006. Also, later this year (during summer), we plan to refresh the Software Development Kit (SDK) for CCE —it was originally distributed to select ISVs and OEMs in late 2004.
