Excessive benchmark data comparing P4 EM64T and Athlon64
Abbas Jaffarali compares the 64-bit P4 and Athlon64 at Tbreak.com.
Quotes:
"We’ve taken some of the benchmarks we commonly use in our CPU testing and ran them across Windows XP in 64 bit. Keep in mind that these are 32 bit apps that are running on 64 bit XP under WoW64."
"... Windows and the drivers used in this testing are in their beta release. The numbers are there for you to see where the CPUs stand as of now although they are going to get better as both the OS and drivers are optimized."
Microsoft is expected to release a set of benchmark data shortly after the general availability of the Windows OS for the x64 platforms. Due to the compatible nature of Intel EM64T and AMD64 there's only one binary necessary to support both architectures (OS and applications).

These results actually make sense. I believe AMD products to be far superior to their Intel counterparts and have demonstrated that many times(i.e. TMPGEnc v2.59: P4 2.6 processed WMV->MPEG2 at 15fps, Athlon XP 2600 at 30fps, Athlon64 3200 at 45fps{XP 32-bit}), but Intel had time to learn from AMD. They can use quantifiable information they took from their Athlon64 experiences to pinpoint where they need to improve their own product. Now it's AMD's turn. They will release a CPU which is by far faster than the Intel version. Then it will be Intel's turn. On and on and on... - Anonymous

About the Linux tests: It's impossible for me to to even begin caring less about Linux, but I found these tests rather odd.
One thing I did notice was this...
AMD Configuration: Gentoo Linux 64-bit (AMD64)
Intel Configuration: Gentoo Linux 32-bit (x86)
That could explain why AMD won (I know...it's like, why am I trying to demonstrate that Intel won when I'm anti-Intel? Well, a true scientist is happy with all data, not just what agrees with him)
