Where to find NETMF this Spring

This is a busy spring for conferences for the platform.  Here is a partial list of places that you can look for us.  Spread the word about these events so that people can get hands on with the product and get any questions that they have answered in real time.  You can see what others are doing with the platform as well.    It is a great opportunity to grow the community.

Embedded World 2011

If you are not familiar with it, Embedded World is the big embedded event for Europe each year (held in Nuremberg).  It is a great show if you can make it there.  As we did last year, the booth is put up and staffed by NETMF partners so you can talk to people who work closely with the product in real world applications.  I strongly recommend the show and while you are there, look up the partners – this year will be bigger than ever.  They are working on hands on demos, contests, and give-away’s.  Hold the time – it’s March 1-3.

MIX 2011

Mix is a Microsoft show held in Las Vegas April 12-14.  This is a ‘gathering of developers, designers, UX experts, and business professionals’.  With the rise of the Internet of Things, having a single programming model and tool chain that reaches form the small devices to the cloud is a great story to tell.  BTW – they are selecting the sessions by popular vote and one of our community has proposed a paper so please take the time to check it out before the Feb 4th deadline at https://live.visitmix.com/OpenCall/Vote/Session/146.  The only requirement is that you can tell a cat from a dog. :-)

SigCSE 2011

SigCSE is a special interest group of the ACM focused on computer science education held in Dallas this year March 9-12.  NETMF will present the Gadgeteer concepts in a talk and participate in the booth with both Gadgeteer and NETMF education offerings.  Friday is open to High School teachers in the area.  If anyone in secondary or post-secondary education has been thinking about how to use NETMF, Visual Studio, and Gadgeteer in their classes, stop by and talk to team members about the possibilities.  We’ll be giving away some dev boards there.

OSCon 2011

OSCon is the Open Source Convention held in Portland Oregon July 25-29.  This convention is organized by O’Reilly Media – the folks that do Maker Faire.  This promises to be a little tamer – it can actually be held indoors for example.  This conference is the furthest out and we are still working with the conference organizers to fully define our participation but we expect to be there with at least a talk – again to drum up more community involvement.

We have some others under consideration but nothing has firmed up yet.

Is there anywhere else we should be?  Let me know.
