20th Anniversary Walt Disney World Marathon Training Week 14: Why I post my schedule?
I was asked the other day why I post my running schedule to my blog and who do I post for. I post the schedule for one simple reason, accountability. I find posting my schedule really helps to keep me accountable to my running plan and allows me to focus on the plan for the week. This is the initial reason I started posting these schedules. What I have found is that these posts have been connecting me with a number of the other runners in Disney. I was reminded of this on Tuesday this week. I was delivering one of my technical sessions and as is the case in all my sessions I show my blog. Sure enough as I scrolled through the blog I showed one of weekly training posts, like the one your reading now, just normal chit chat for me. Well during break a gentleman approached and mentioned he was running Disney this year as well. In fact he was running Goofy and this was his first time he was running Disney. I was able to help him understand the run and we talked about nutrition, running and footwear. Do not worry Jimmy I got you covered.
I then realized that these posts are not just for me, but for you too. If you happen to be running Disney, I would love to hear from you and more importantly would love to meet you. Just like I met Pearl two years ago, gonna miss you this year.
