Browsing the List of WP7 Applications
I’ve seen several MS folks pointing out this capability, so I just had to share this tidbit. To my knowledge, the only way to see WP7 applications in our WP7 Marketplace was either on the phone or via the Zune software on your PC. Now, Bing Visual Search provides another way – just using your browser.
When you visit the Bing WP7 page, you’ll see multiple ways to filter this list of almost 2,000 applications. You could filter by the following:
- 25 Top Rated
- 25 Newest Free Apps
- 25 Newest Paid Apps
- 25 Most Downloaded
- Application Category and Subcategory
- Price
It’s a pretty impressive list, and a lot of known brands are in there. The “Most Downloaded” list is definitely impressive. And I noticed also that Microsoft Tag has made it’s WP7 debut via the Newest Free App’s.

Sadly, that's one of the many Bing features that is US-only. Bing and (on the phone) speech recognition are areas where Microsoft is failing badly in providing a global service.
