Complementary Microsoft Technical Training Event on SQL Server 2005
We're hosting a TechNet Training event on SQL Server 2005 in both Dublin and Belfast on September 26th and 28th respectively. This event will be technical deep dive covering best practices on how to upgrade from older versions of SQL Server or how to migrate from Oracle to SQL Server 2005. It will also cover Advanced SQL Server 2005 Integration and Reporting Services (Level 300). The focus of the event will be on practical demos and working examples as well as practical tips and tricks from the field.

This session will show you the best methods to upgrade from earlier version of SQL Server to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. You will find out how to identify any incompatibility issues that you must address before you begin the process and how to prepare your system for a successful upgrade. We also offer tips and techniques that can help you make the most effective use of the upgrade tools and minimize downtime during the upgrade process.
We will also show you a new tool to you called Microsoft SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA). Have you ever wondered how to take PL/SQL code and convert it to T-SQL? SSMA automates the conversion of Oracle Database schema and data to Microsoft SQL Server. We show you the steps of a typical migration project. Learn how you can use the different modules of SSMA to automate assessment, schema and data migration, and testing.
