IList.IndexOf Method

Microsoft Silverlight will reach end of support after October 2021. Learn more.

Determines the index of a specific item in the IList.

Namespace:  System.Collections
Assembly:  mscorlib (in mscorlib.dll)

Syntax

'Declaration
Function IndexOf ( _
    value As Object _
) As Integer
int IndexOf(
    Object value
)

Parameters

Return Value

Type: System.Int32
The index of value if found in the list; otherwise, -1.

Examples

The following example demonstrates the implementation of the IList interface to create a simple list, fixed-size list. This code is part of a larger example for the IList interface.

         _count = _count + 1

         Return (_count - 1)

      Else

         Return -1
