Enable or disable ICF security log options

To enable or disable ICF security log options

Open Network Connections.
Right-click the connection on which Internet Connection Firewall (ICF) has been enabled, and then click Properties.
On the Advanced tab, click Settings.
On the Security Logging tab, under Logging Options, select from the following:

To enable ICF security log options:
- To enable the logging of all dropped packets that originate from either the home or small office network or the Internet, select the Log dropped packets check box.
- To enable the logging of all successful connections that originate from either the home or small office network or the Internet, select the Log successful connections check box.
Or, to disable ICF security log options:
- To disable the logging of all dropped packets that originate from either the home or small office network or the Internet, clear the Log dropped packets check box.
- To disable the logging of all successful connections that originate from either the home or small office network or the Internet, clear the Log successful connections check box.

Notes

To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure.
To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections.
Security logging is not enabled by default when ICF is enabled.
ICF functions whether security logging is enabled or disabled.
If ICF is enabled on two or more connections on a single computer, the ICF settings are global. If you select a setting or change a setting in Logging Options or Services on any one of the connections on which ICF is enabled, that setting is applied to all of the ICF firewalls on that computer.
Internet Connection Firewall is included only in the original releases of Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition, and Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition.
