Set a notification delay
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
To set a notification delay
Open Command Prompt.
Type:
ntdsutil
At the ntdsutil command, type:
domain management
At the domain management command, type:
connection
At the connection command, type:
connect to server DomainController
At the connection command, type:
quit
At the domain management command, type:
set nc replicate notification delay DirectoryPartition DelayInSeconds AdditionalDelayInSeconds

The distinguished name of the directory partition for which you want to set notification delays. |
DelayInSeconds |
The number of seconds to delay before sending the change notification to the first replication partner. |
AdditionalDelayInSeconds |
The number of seconds to delay before sending subsequent change notifications to the remaining replication partners. |
Notes
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Domain Admins group or the Enterprise Admins group in Active Directory, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. As a security best practice, consider using Run as to perform this procedure. For more information, see Default local groups, Default groups, and Using Run as.
To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command prompt.
This procedure can be applied to any directory partition including application directory partitions.
