INPUT TYPE=submit XHTML Element (Windows Embedded CE 6.0)

The INPUT TYPE=submit element creates a button control that, when clicked, submits the form. This is an inline element and does not require a closing tag.

Gives access or focus to an active HTML element by using a keypad number.

ALIGN

 

Specifies the alignment of text following the IMG reference relative to the graphic on screen.

 

absbottom

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: text-bottom;

 

absmiddle

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: middle;

 

baseline

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: baseline;

 

bottom

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: bottom;

 

left

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: left;

 

middle

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: middle;

 

right

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: right;

 

texttop

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: text-top;

 

top

This attribute is equivalent to the CSS:

vertical-align: top;

CLASS

 

Associates the element with a CSS style.

DISABLED

 

Disables the element so that it appears dimmed and does not respond to user input.

ID

 

Uniquely identifies the element within a document.

NAME

String

Specifies the submit control name.

ONBLUR

 

Event that occurs when the submit control loses focus by the pointing device or by tabbing navigation.

ONCLICK

 

Event that occurs when the user chooses the submit control.

ONFOCUS

 

Event that occurs when the submit control receives focus by a pointing device or by tabbing navigation.

STYLE

 

Provides the definition of the CSS styles used for this element.

TABINDEX

 

Sets the order in which elements are tabbed to.

VALUE

String

Specifies the submit control value. If the submit control has a name and a value and if the control is selected, the name or value pair is submitted to the server.

Event Comment

onblur

Occurs when an element loses focus either by the pointing device or by keypad navigation.

onclick

Occurs when the user selects on the submit button element and only when the user presses the pen down on and then lifts up the pen over the same submit button. The author can specify a special handler for this event.

onfocus

Occurs when an element receives focus either by the pointing device or by tabbing navigation.

  • Simulates clicking on the submit button causing the onclick event to fire.

focus

 

Syntax:

submit.focus()

  • Sets focus to the submit button.

getAttribute

option

Syntax:

vAttrValue=submit.getAttribute(sAttrName[,iFlags])

  • Returns the value of the specified attribute. If the attribute is not present then a NULL is returned.
    sAttrName is a String containing the name of the attribute.
    iFlags is an integer that specifies one or more of the following:
    0 (Default) Performs a property search that is not case-sensitive, and returns an interpolated value if the property is found.
    1 Performs a case-sensitive property search. To find a match, the uppercase and lowercase letters in sAttrName must exactly match those in the attribute name.
    2 Returns the value exactly as it was set in script or in the source document.
