.NET Passport UI Elements
.NET Passport UI Elements
The Microsoft® .NET brand is enhanced by a consistent expression of its visual identity across all points of user interaction, and it is important that users be provided with visual consistency within the user interface (UI). All Microsoft® .NET Passport branded UI elements are provided in the .NET Passport Service Guide Kit (SGK).
The information in this topic is intended for individuals or companies who have a valid .NET Passport Service Agreement or .NET Services Agreement with Microsoft. You may not use or serve these design elements unless your agreement with Microsoft is signed and active.
.NET Passport Graphics
The following are the .NET Passport brand elements and descriptions of their use in a user interface.
Microsoft .NET Logo
This logo is used in dialog boxes, buttons, and Web pages that refer to Microsoft .NET Passport.
Microsoft .NET Passport Sign In and Sign Out Buttons
The Sign In and Sign Out buttons are the primary call to action for users to learn more about .NET Passport, sign up for a .NET Passport, or sign in and out of an existing .NET Passport. The .NET Passport Sign In and Sign Out buttons appear in the upper-right corner of the home page, as well as on top-level section pages and pages that offer custom content when the user is signed in to .NET Passport.
Typically, sites with horizontal navigation bars place the button in the right cell of the navigation bar, as shown in the sample executions. When the .NET Passport Sign In and Sign Out buttons appear in these locations, users can recognize easily that .NET Passport is accepted on the site. They can also see whether they are signed in and can sign out, if they want to, before leaving the site.
To display the correct sign-in state, use the LogoTag2 method to generate the .NET Passport Sign In and Sign Out buttons.
Microsoft .NET Passport Sign-In Module
The Microsoft .NET sign-in module is a dialog box that allows users to sign in to their existing .NET Passports or to sign up for new ones. The sign-in module appears after a user has clicked the .NET Passport Sign In button.
The size of this module should not be altered in any way.
Graphical Guidelines
These guidelines explain correct implementation of .NET Passport brand elements. Adherence to these guidelines improves the user's experience by providing a consistent representation of key design elements.
**Size—**All .NET Passport art is provided in one size and must not be reduced or enlarged in any way.
**Orientation—**All .NET Passport art should always be displayed horizontally. It should never appear in a vertical or diagonal orientation.
**Clear space—**A minimum clearance must be maintained between the .NET Passport art and other graphical elements. There must be 10 pixels of clear space surrounding each .NET Passport art element.
**Lock-up—**Microsoft .NET Passport art should never be altered, morphed, animated, resized or taken apart and recombined to create new art. In addition, trademark symbols must never be removed from the art.
**Reversing—**When using the Microsoft .NET logo on a dark or black background, the logotype may be reversed to white.
**Color—**The colors of the .NET Passport art play an important role. These colors are identical to the Microsoft colors and should conform to the following RGB colors when being incorporated into a user interface.
Color RGB value Red R255+G51+B0 Green R102+G204+B51 Blue R0+G153+B255 Yellow R255+G204+B0
