How Are Profiles Stored?
Profile data can be stored in a SQL Server database, in Active Directory, or both. By default, Commerce Server Core Systems stores profile data in a SQL Server database. To change the default location where you store profiles data, you configure your Profiles data source. This includes connection string information and security attributes.
