How to Configure a Web Server

In Commerce Server Manager, the Commerce Web server objects contain properties needed by the Data Warehouse in order to import log files. When you add a Web server to an application, these properties are automatically populated from Internet Information Services (IIS) and stored in the Administration database.

When the Web servers in this application are running IIS box in the Application Properties dialog box is selected, you can only use either the New log file period or Log file mask property; you cannot use both properties. If the Synchronize the log file name and location box on the Application Properties dialog box is selected, the value in the Log file directory box in the Web Server Properties dialog box is overwritten with the value in IIS. The Synchronize Values button is activated only when the Web servers in the application are using IIS option is selected on the General tab in the Applications Properties dialog box, and you have made changes using the IIS user interface.
