Managing Discounts

Discounts are a significant part of an online merchandising system. You can use discounts to introduce new products, retain existing customers, or increase market share. Marketing managers create discounts to promote specific products to increase customer sales. Marketing managers run promotions, such as a spring sale to move inventory that is not selling. You can apply discounts to any item in your catalog. You can apply a discount against a whole order (an order-level discount), or against specific items in the order (an item-level discount). You use Marketing Manager to create and manage discounts.
