Outlook 2013 : Differences between To-Do Bar and Peeks for Calendar

To-Do Bar

Peeks

Calendar Items that appear in the to-do bar have the right click context menu

Items in the pinned calendar peek lack the right click context menu

You can drag items onto the pinned calendar peek date picker to create appointments

You cannot drag items onto the pinned calendar peek date picker to create appointments

We can get multiple months to show in the to-do bar

We show only a single calendar month in the pinned calendar peek

Single-clicking on a date in the pinned calendar peek date picker opens the calendar module

Double-clicking on a date in the pinned calendar peek date picker opens the calendar module

The to-do bar displays appointments for that day and upcoming days

The to-do bar displays only that days'\ or a selected date's appointments in the pinned calendar peek

Calendar Items show both start and end times on them in the to-do-bar

Only start times are displayed on the calendar items in the pinned peek

There is an option to minimize the to-do-bar

There isn’t an option to minimize a pinned peek

In the current month displaying in the docked calendar peek, For example, December...Double Click on the 5th of January-- The calendar opens up for January 5th 2013.

In the current month displaying in the docked calendar peek, For example, December...Double Click on the 5th of January. The calendar opens up for the 9th of FEB' 2013 and not January 5th 2013. In this specific scenario....Double-Clicking to Open Calendar by clicking on a date in the pinned calendar peek Changes Focus.
