A week at TechReady and a Spring Resolution

While I just built a snowman (actually snow' “woman”) last Saturday with my kids, I’m fully in Spring mode. Maybe it’s that I just spent a week in Seattle, where trees and plants are in bloom, and I can walk around without a jacket. Or that it’s expected to warm up quite a bit in Michigan. At any rate, I took a look at my blog and was shocked, embarrassed, demoralized, <insert your favorite verb> to see that I haven’t posted yet in 2010. Yep, pretty sad.

So to that end, my Spring resolution is to get back out here and post on a regular basis. I have a lot of half written posts that need to get finished, and a lot of great ideas for posts based on my experiences – both from a sales perspective and a technical aspect - with SharePoint 2010.

What have I been up to? A lot! I’ve been incredibly busy presenting on SharePoint 2010, standing up SharePoint 2010 beta environments for customers, and digging into the inner workings of the product.

imageOn the presentation front, we had a standing-room only audience attend a “SharePoint 2010 In Action” all-day event in Grand Rapids, MI. We received very positive feedback and attendees left the event very excited about what’s coming with SharePoint 2010. I’ve also had several direct presentations to customers covering SharePoint 2010 topics including ECM, WCM, social computing, Enterprise (E-CAL) features, collaboration changes, IT Pro enhancements, and developer improvements. Like I said, it’s been busy.

image Most recently, I was asked to present at SharePoint Saturday Michigan, held on March 13th, in Ann Arbor, MI. This event was organized entirely by our local partner community. I presented on “What’s Hot with SharePoint 2010” where I shared my experiences on what my customers are most excited about – not just a geeky technology view – but a review of the top 2010 capabilities that the companies I work with are truly excited about and using as drivers to justify deploying/upgrading to SharePoint 2010 as soon as possible. More info on the presentation and top three in a later post.

And just last week I was out in Seattle attending a Microsoft internal event called TechReady. TechReady is a great event that enables me to connect with the product groups as well as other Microsoft technical sales and consulting folks from across the globe. It’s a great chance to view and play with cutting edge technologies.

So stay tuned – a lot of new content to come!
